What’s the beef?
Today’s title is an urban saying that refers to conflict. Of course it also refers to the food we get from a cow, and would seem most appropriate on this Earth Ox day. Furthermore, we are in a Pig month and, despite both being part of the same group of zodiac animals, the Ox controls the Pig and may cause a problem or two.
This particular group denotes the water element that, among other things, represents communications. Having the beginning and end of a combination means disjointed messages, so the connecting influence of the Rat is sorely needed. If you have one in your horoscope and you can find out with our free Chinese horoscope you will probably act as a councillor today and people will naturally flock to you for your unbridled wisdom, another water quality.
Failing that, we will all share the early Rat hour which runs from 11pm until midnight, so if you need to discuss important issues this may be the best time. Dun cow brightens up with lucky horseshoe
The dun cow is a common phrase in English folklore. "Dun" is a dull shade of brownish grey. We chose the brownish aspect as this corresponds to the earth element and today is an Earth Ox day. How now brown cow!
Todays title was once used as an elocution lesson and we are borrowing it to see what the day has in store, hence how now? Firstly, as brown is a colour associated with the earth element and cow another name for ox, it should come as no surprise that today, in an Earth Ox day.
The Chinese almanac which is said to indicate the flow of nature, also lists various factors which determine if the day is lucky or not. One of these is the “Harmonic” which today has fire. If you can play an instrument there is a natural tone for now, but for most people, use on of fires’ main attributes, namely ACTION! So, perhaps you should just go for it.
Roof refers to the moon position as defined in the 28 Lunar Mansions, and that is not good for businesses opened today. However, the Twelve Palaces say it is good for opening, in all other directions. It is also good for , meditation, asking for blessings, taking a course, visiting friends, travelling, getting engaged or married, then emigrate, exchanging gifts, having an astrology choosing a doctor, reading, buy or make clothes, open a business and trade, refurbish home or office, move earth, buy land.
Ox days are usually good for Ox signs who have prominence, Roosters who gain much needed support and Snakes who can be quite innovative. It brings change to Sheep, Rabbit and Pig symbols, although being a Rabbit month this is unlikely. All other signs are neutral. Red leather – yellow leather?
How could Red leather – yellow leather possibly relate to today’s Chinese astrology? Well, this Earth Ox day is associated with the colour yellow, also known as the sages colour and the Ox was the traditional source of leather. It is not a huge stretch of the imagination to find a popular saying or tongue twister in this case to highlight the auspiciousness of this day. Having both earth elements in this day, makes the metal signs of Monkey and Rooster stronger and they should feel vibrant all day. Tiger and Rabbit signs are lucky with money and their males are lucky in love, as are female Pig and Rat signs, though they swap wealth for power and recognition. Ladies it could be a good time to ask for promotion. Horse and Snake – the fire signs, should have a stress free and relaxing day and may travel.
