Continued from famous astrology profile 3 In 1909 she entered a new luck pillar of Yin Water Rabbit where the branch gave her a major root as well as the Prosperity influence. Consequently, in this year of an Earth (Wealth) Rooster (Power) her boyfriend helped her obtain her fist shop called Channel Modes. As you might expect from a Peach Blossom representing power and being under the Prosperity influence, this shop quickly proved a great success and in her next year of Wealth, a Yin Water Ox year of 1913 she then opened a boutique in Deauville. Her first Couture House followed in 1915 a Yin Wood (Friendly Parallel) Rabbit (Friendly Parallel + Prosperity) year. She then moved to the 31 Rue Cambon in 1918 a Yang Earth (Wealth) Horse (Output) year and laid the foundations for the Channel Empire.

In 1919 she entered a new luck pillar of Yang Wood Rat, this is a very significant pillar being the first of the Sexagesimal cycle it always heralds new beginnings. The Rat is also another type of peach blossom in her chart. In 1921 a Metal Rooster year brought more Power and allowed her Monkey branches to “advance” bringing all business and subsidiary plans to fruition, she launched her first perfume Channel no; 5. The perfume was the first sold worldwide, and the straight lines of its bottle representing wealth to Coco stood out from the other flamboyant perfume bottles of the time. The No. 5 in Chanel No. 5, is said to be Coco's lucky number, however it was actually chosen because it was the fifth sample.

Channel no 5In 1924 a Yang Wood Rat year she also had a new beginning when Pierre Wertheimer became her partner in the perfume business. The Yang Wood of this year represents an Unfriendly Parallel and her new partner Wertheimer actually owned 70% of the company, while Chanel received only 10% and her original backer Bader 20%. Chanel No. 5 became a thorn in Coco's side, as she received very little income from its success. The Wertheimer continue to control the perfume company today.

In the late 1950s, Marilyn Monroe revealed that Chanel No. 5 was her favourite perfume. When she was asked what she wore in bed she replied "Two drops of Chanel No. 5".

A bottle of Chanel No. 5 is sold every 30 seconds. The House of Chanel in Paris, under Karl Lagerfeld, remains one of the top design houses today.
