Chinese Astrology Examples
A recent film about the life of fashion designer CoCo Chanel prompted this example, which was taken from our definitive training guide to Chinese astrology. Chinese astrology horoscopes for Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel born 16:00 August 19, 1883 – January 10, 1971) was a pioneering French fashion designer whose modernist philosophy, menswear-inspired fashions, and pursuit of expensive simplicity made her arguably the most important figure in the history of 20th-century fashion. The other root is in her day branch and this gave her great drive and determination. However the outstanding feature of this chart are her two Monkey branches which act as romance stars or Beautiful Red Peach Blossoms. This meant that she was able to turn her sexuality into Power and consequently she was set up in business by a paramour, Étienne Balsan, a French textile heir. Her romantic affairs with the artist Paul Iribe, the Duke of Westminster, Grand Duke Dmitri of Russia, and British sportsman Boy Capel all had a considerable influence on the stylistic evolution of her often male-inspired fashions. As a result, she became one of the most influential fashion designers of the last century.
When there is a huge amount of power in a chart the resource element is desperately needed. For Coco this was the Yin Water Heavenly Stem of her year pillar which was timely but only has two minor roots in the Monkey branches. Consequently, her first 16 years of life were particularly pressurised and she lived in an orphanage. This is shown by her year pillar of Goat being too strong for her to control, which brought additional pressure by generating the power element in her chart. As this also appears in her marriage palace making her quality of marriage unsuitable, she never married.
At the age of 16 she entered a luck pillar of Yang Water Dog and life became easier and at 18 a Yin Metal Ox year brought power and wealth to her and she moved out of the orphanage and was able to support herself from a new job in a tailors shop. As the power element of this year represents a woman’s husband or long term relationship she met a rich playboy at this time and moved in with him.
